Individuals come to New Sun MHC, with the major goal of improving their lives. One of our major treatment purposes is to guide the individual to make the necessary life changes.

Some of our clients have experienced legal consequences due to alcohol/drug abuse with Driving Under the Influence (DUI) charges. We understand that these are difficult times. We perceive it as an individual’s opportunity to evaluate alternatives for improvement.

We Provide The Following Services

Counseling (Individual, Couple & Family Therapy)

We provide counseling services to individuals of all ages (children to older adults) with issues such as: depression, anxiety, divorce/separation, abuse, trauma, OCD, stress management, grief and loss, personality disorders, relationship issues, self-esteem, family conflict, substance abuse, addictions, infertility, school issues, self-harm, oppositional defiance, parenting skills, eating disorders and others.

Substance Abuse Clinical Evaluations

  • Substance Abuse Evaluation for first DUI offenders
  • Substance Abuse Evaluation for Multiple Offenders. (More than two DUIs in ten years)
  • Habitual Violator (More than three DUIs in ten years)
  • Reckless Driving
  • Alcohol / Drug Possession
  • Public Intoxication
  • Minor under Influence/Possession
  • Disorderly Conduct
  • Anger Management and Domestic Violence under alcohol/ drug influence

Substance Abuse Treatment

  • Substance Abuse Treatment will focus on changing one’s thought process to promote low-risk choices and work towards reducing long-term substance abuse issues.
  • ASAM Level I Short Term: 6-12 weeks
  • ASAM Level I Long Term: 17-52 weeks
  • Individual and Group Substance Abuse Treatments

Values Clarification Program (Ethics & Values)

Values Clarification Program will help to explore one’s values and influence better choices. This program helps individuals gain new insights surrounding one’s decisions, social influence, and thought processes.

Anger Management Program (AMP)

We provide a program to help individuals learn and develop new skills to manage intense emotions that lead to anger. This program will help to focus on one’s thoughts, choices, and actions to reduce harm to self and others from anger.

On-site Workshops Program

Workshops provide an opportunity to help individuals gain new insights surrounding various topics such as: depression, self-esteem, peer pressure for teenagers, relationships, communication, substance use, and anxiety can be scheduled at businesses, schools, or churches.

Mental Health Evaluations

  • Mental Health Evaluations for Probation Officer requirements like Driving Under the Influence (DUI), Theft, Public Indecency, Reckless Conduct, DUI, Shoplifting, Simple Battery / Battery, Simple Assault, Harassment by Communication, and others).
  • Mental Health Evaluations for Immigration.
  • Forensic Mental Health Evaluations.
